Full time, Fixed term maternity leave cover up to 12 months (or return of the postholder, whichever is earliest)
To commence from January 2012
As part of the Payroll and Pensions team of seven, you will be dealing with all aspects of a complex payroll including the relevant pension scheme administration, (there are three different schemes) with responsibility for specific departments and faculties. You will also handle queries from colleagues and external agencies regarding payroll and pension matters, in person, via the telephone and in writing.
You must be able to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and demonstrate good IT and interpersonal skills. In addition, you should have a proven track record of effective communication and problem-solving skills, and relevant current payroll experience within a large, complex organisation. Accurate data input skills are essential, together with knowledge and experience of using an integrated HR/Payroll system. The University uses Northgate's PSE integrated Payroll/HR software so prior knowledge of this would be highly desirable.
CIPP Foundation or Diploma would be desirable, or evidence of further relevant study towards a professional qualification.
Please note consideration for interview will only be given to those who are able to fulfil all of the essential requirements as noted - see Person Specification
